About Garhauer Marine
Garhauer Marine was founded in 1970 by two machinist friends who shared a common passion for sailing. Guido Gargiulo and Bill Felgenhauer set up shop in the foothills of the San Bernardino mountains in Southern California.
Family owned and operated, Garhauer is first and foremost a sailor’s company. Both founders and three generations of their families come to work each morning. Among them are no less than four sailboat owners, whose vessels offer unique real world “test labs”. This real-world experience is clearly the best way for Garhauer to prove and improve new designs before offering them on this website. The constant obsession with innovation and improvement of the product has been the backbone for growth since day one.
By functioning in a supplier capacity to larger companies, Garhauer learned the lessons of maintaining low overhead and containment of production costs in order to deliver parts with a competitive advantage. Most of the hardware available to all customers was developed and produced using stringent price considerations. All this leads to the same advantage built into every Garhauer part sold to every customer: Value.
